Our first IS lesson today about understanding the history of Wuhan and Hubei. Our lecturer's name is Anna. At first I thought we would be trying to decipher what she is trying to say but her English is quite good, not too hard to understand. Although the lecture might be boring at times, it's interesting to find out about the history of a place we are in now. Topics covered include Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Qu Yuan, various festivals and many more.

We decided to visit an eatery nearby for lunch. It is opened by students who are studying in university. Initially, I wanted to try their Black Pepper Beef Steak but it went out of stock so I decided to try the Beef Brisket Claypot Rice instead. It's wonderful except that I keep biting into the spices that are of a funny yet familiar taste. However, spices bring up the taste of the food so it will be tasteless if no spices are added.



Slacked inside our bunk for the afternoon and went out in the evening to buy 2 birthday cakes for Ming Yu and Shun Qing. We decided to celebrate their birthdays together so as not to attract too many complaints from the other tenants. However, we decided to celebrate at the stadium. Chin Kuang, Alvin, Zhong Rong and myself went to get the cakes. It's interesting to see how the baker prepare the cakes. The celebration went on as usual and both of them were practically stunned when they saw the cakes!

We bought food back from the night market for dinner. Had fried rice and 梅菜扣肉饼. The rice is delicious but the pancake is just too hard! However, I guess that's because we have left it lying around for some time. Just had an interaction with the local students who are slated to bring us around on Tuesday. Schedule for next week is going to pick mandarin oranges followed by a barbeque session. Looking forward to it!
