Day 1 - 武汉之旅的开始 Had a little nap at 3am till 4.30am before proceeding on to make some last minute preparations for my Wuhan trip. It's strange but I have no feelings about leaving my house for 6 weeks this time, I wonder why? Haha. However, I make sure that I'm fully prepared for the trip. Bringing a huge amount of money overseas ain't an easy job, I have to make sure each and every note is being kept safe with me. Went out of house at 5am to meet Kai Chung to take the cab to the airport. Our mothers came along too. Reached the airport and gathered. A surprise planned for today: Rebecca's Birthday! Her birthday is on 9th September but our class decided to give her a surprise at the airport. Singing the birthday song! Group Photo of OIP Batch 3 2L02 + Mr Loh Wai Tuck + Mr Wee Gim Theng After everything is done, we checked in our luggage, got our boarding passes and bade goodbye to our parents before going to plane to board. Got to our boarding gate and boarded the plane, bound for Guangzhou as CZ352, China Southern Airlines, Airbus A321. Our plane waiting to fly us to Guangzhou! The plane cabin Flying to Guangzhou! Snacks onboard Chinese tea! Was served when we were 1 hour to landing About to land in Guangzhou! Trees in Guangzhou airport! The landing was the smoothest I experienced in my entire life and after so many flights. However, the service on the flight was of a very low rating; probably 2 out of 5 stars. No drinks until about an hour into the flight, serving of food was very slow and the flight attendants have the face that shows "we are being forced to serve, not to serve with our hearts". After landing, we proceeded on to take our boarding passes from Guangzhou to Wuhan and walked around the airport. It feels great in the airport and I feel very tempted to go and visit my family in Guangzhou! Our lunch at Guangzhou airport, wanton noodles After lunch, went to the boarding gate to take our flight to Wuhan. Checking in for a domestic flight is much easier than an international flight! Our boarding pass from Guangzhou to Wuhan A Boeing 737-800 to bring us from Guangzhou to Wuhan! I was seated just behind the Business Class.. So tempting! We arrived in Wuhan airport safe and sound! Landing in Wuhan was a tad rougher than normal but still acceptable. Service on China Southern's domestic flight is brilliant. The standard is close to Singapore Airlines! Food nice, attendants friendly and fast service. Took a long bus ride of 1 hour 30 minutes from the airport to the campus. It seemed like forever so I took the time to have a little nap. We finally reached the campus at about 9.30pm before proceeding on to have our dinner. Our first dinner in Wuhan! Settled down in our bunks after dinner. I am in room 319 with Chin Kuang and Zhong Rong. Not very used to the bunk on our first day but fortunately it went uneventful. My bed! Looking forward to a very interesting journey in Wuhan! 10:39 PM |
